A Day at Viju Milk Company: Where Science Meets Refreshment

Few things excite students like discovering how their favourite drink is made! Shining Light Schools students visited the Viju Milk Company for an educational tour of their production facility.

Inside the factory

Our students watched the journey of milk drinks from raw materials to the sealed bottles they recognize from shops — observing  the mixing, pasteurisation, bottling and packaging stages]. They saw first-hand the extraordinary attention to hygiene and quality control that food production demands, with staff explaining each stage of the process.

Lessons beyond the bottle

The visit was a living lesson in science and enterprise. Students connected what they have learned about nutrition, micro-organisms and food preservation to real industrial practice — and discovered career paths in food technology, quality assurance and production management that many had never considered.

The questions our students asked impressed our hosts, and the trip ended with smiles all around and refreshments, if the company provided samples!.
